Odyssées hybrides, Armelle de Sainte Marie

Eric Suchère, critique d'art, commissaire d'exposition, Romain Mathieu, historien de l'art (textes)
Armelle de Sainte Marie belongs to a new generation of painters who revisit abstraction, reusing its motifs (stains, drips) in compositions where the figurative is not absent.
The book brings together around a hundred works created since 2009 on different media and with different techniques: oil, acrylic, watercolor. It focuses particularly on showing the dialogue between two series of paintings - large colorful and baroque compositions resembling abstract landscapes gathered under the title of Odysseys and paintings of ambiguous objects half-organic, half-mineral, titled Hybrids.
This is the first comprehensive monographic work dedicated to Armelle de Sainte Marie, whose work is attracting growing interest from the public, at fairs and exhibitions as well as in galleries (Béa-ba galleries, Marseille and Jean Fournier, Paris).
